Returning to learning?
At the University of Worcester we actively welcome applications from anyone who is interested in our courses, whatever their age.
A large number of our students join us after the age of 21. Some study with us to enhance their existing skills, while others are venturing out into completely new territory. Whatever your reason, you will be among like-minded friends.
We have mature student welfare officers, a mature student Students' Union representative, and a number of events designed to provide help, support and a forum for sharing experiences. We also run introductory sessions for people thinking of returning to learning, allowing you to find out about what the practicalities of life will be like with us.
We value mature students for their enthusiasm and experience. To reflect this, our course admissions requirements are more flexible, with a wide range of qualifications accepted. There are a number of entry routes available, including: Access Courses, Foundation Years and Taster Modules. You can find out more about these programmes on pages 20-21. Experience also counts. If you have undertaken training and development at work, you may be given credit towards your course.
We value the impressive personal qualities and eagerness to engage with the learning process that mature students very often demonstrate. As a result, every effort is made to provide an experience that meets the individual needs of mature students and serves to assist in the successful achievement of their academic and career goals.
