Facilities & Support
The Graduate Research School provides day-to-day administrative, academic and pastoral support for our research students. It also acts as a focus for academic and social activities and we like to think that we have helped to create a vibrant and supportive community for our students.
Where possible, we seek to provide all full-time postgraduate research students with an allocated work space within the School itself consisting of an office with a desk, a computer and filing space. If, however, there are a number of students within a specific subject area, these students may be based within the relevant Institute
Part-time research students have access to a dedicated 24-hour Part-Time Student Room which contains PCs, printer, etc. This allows part-time research students the opportunity to work in and benefit from the postgraduate community.
The administration centre is at the heart of the Graduate Research School and our staff are always on hand to help you with any queries you may have, whether relating to your studies or other aspects of life at the University of Worcester.
Research students, new and old, can also seek the help and advice of the nominated research student reps who will know exactly what you’re going through and will be able to direct you to who you need to talk to. These reps also represent the research student body on various research-related and student committees.
We organise various academic events for our students - such as the Research Student Conference and the PG Work in Progress Seminar Series – and social occasions for students and supervisors – such as the Christmas Party and the Summer Picnic.
