Worcester is located in the West Midlands. It is easily accessible by car (through a good network of motorways) and by trains.

The City of Worcester has a population of over 110,000 people. It is a safe, medium sized city, with opportunities for part-time work and socialising. In recent years it was ranked 8th happiest place to live and 14th most desirable place to live out of hundreds of cities and towns in the UK.
c) Which airports are situated close to Worcester?
Birmingham Airport is the closest airport to Worcester. It takes about slightly more than an hour from the airport to get to Worcester by train. London Heathrow International Airport is about slightly more than two hours away from Worcester. Students who choose to fly to this airport can easily take trains (such as from Paddington station) to get to Worcester.

University of Worcester currently have over 10,000 students. We are an average size university, big enough to offer a lot of different courses, but small enough to care for each and every student.

We have six academic departments namely, Worcester Business School, Institute of Education, Institute of Health and Society, Institute of Humanities and Creative Arts, Institute of Science and the Environment and Institute of Sport and Exercise Science.
b) What levels of courses are offered?
We offer various courses within the various academic departments at different levels namely, Higher National Diploma (HNDs), Top-Up degrees and undergraduate degrees.
We also offer postgraduate courses at taught and research Masters programmes as well as doctorate degrees.

We accept applications at any time before the start of the academic year (which commences in September of each year). However, as we do receive a high volume of applications for limited spaces, we would strongly advise that completed applications are sent in as soon as possible.

b) Are there any scholarships
The University of Worcester does offer different types of scholarships to international students on a competitive basis. We award International Scholarships to eligible students based on academic merit and each award is valued at £2,000.

Students who have excelled in their first year of undergraduate study may also be eligible for the Academic Scholarships which is awarded solely based on academic merit and performance. The award is valued at £1,000 and the University awards up to 100 scholarships to eligible and high performing students.

The University offers a number of part-time jobs for its current students through a student ambassador role offering reasonable pay rates starting from £6.25 up to £7.34 per hour.

Our accommodation office offers a free service to help students find the right place to live. Living in our modern, purpose-built Halls of Residence offers students the perfect opportunity to meet other students and become involved in the social life of the institution. Students can purchase meals in the canteen or cook for themselves in the fully equipped kitchens in their self-catering flats.
