The Worcester Business School is seeking to attract demonstrators to develop and / or support practical sessions in the area of undergraduate computing.
These positions are especially attractive to recent computing graduates with limited teaching experience, but may be interested in a future career in teaching.
The subject areas specifically sought are:
• Object-oriented Programming (Java, C#, C++)
• Database design & development
• Web Design
• Web Development
• Mobile applications design & development
• E-business and social media (google analytics, facebook development, hootsuite, etc)
• WordPress development
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Games Design & Development.
Core duties are outlined below however individual roles will vary according to the subject taught. This is a generic job description only. Please state which of the subject areas above you may be qualified for clearly on your application form.

The Business School has grown rapidly over recent years and now has c. 1,750 students on a range of Business and Computing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. - Main duties
1. To prepare for practical sessions by developing an understanding of the content, learning outcomes and modes of delivery for the relevant sessions. This may involve scholarship in the subject area to ensure that the content and delivery is at the appropriate level for a Higher Education audience.
2. To prepare course materials, exercises and handouts, ensuring that information is available to students in advance of the practical sessions.
3. To deliver or support the delivery of the module through practical sessions, exercises, tests and on-line material.
4. To be available for tutorial support to students at specified times.
5. To fully support the module leader and other module tutors throughout the delivery of the module.
6. To attend staff development events and activities (financial support is available).
7. To undertake other administrative duties related to the teaching, e.g. entering marks.

Please provide evidence of how you meet each of the essential criteria.
1. A first degree or equivalent in the subject area (or expected completion by starting date of the position) with a final year classification of at least a 2.1 in the area of demonstrating.
2. Good technical knowledge of one or more of the areas applying for.
3. The ability to give clear and precise guidance to students.
4. A commitment to interactive teaching methods with a learner centred focus.
5. The ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).
6. The ability to work well in a team context.
1. Currently studying towards a higher degree in a related area or aspirations to do so.
2. Experience of teaching within Higher Education or professional training at the equivalent level.
