Modern Foreign Languages

Why study a modern foreign language?

To mention but some of the reasons...

  • Foreign-language skills increase your employability both in the UK and abroad
  • Studying foreign languages opens your mind to other cultures
  • Foreign language skills increase your opportunities for studying abroad.

Study options

The Language Centre offers undergraduate modules and leisure courses in a variety of modern foreign languages. In addition, students are welcome to use the Centre’s self-access facilities to independently improve their language skills. Our language adviser will be pleased to help you to select suitable materials for self-study.

Opportunities abroad

The University of Worcester has a number of European partner institutions and students can participate in the Erasmus exchange programme and study for a semester or a year at one of these institutions. Studying abroad allows you to practise your new language skills in day-to-day life, with long-term benefits for your employability and personal development. However, all teaching at the institution of your choice will take place in English.
