Helen has a wide range of responsibilities including ensuring that the University has excellent corporate governance arrangements in place. A significant part of her role is as Clerk to the Board of Governors where she has primary responsibility for assisting the Board to meet the University’s aims to have outstanding governance which is ethical, sustainable and inclusive. She is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the Board and providing independent advice to the Board and its committees on the proper exercise of their powers and on the application of the legal and regulatory framework affecting its work.
Helen is responsible for the University’s compliance with: the requirements of the OfS registration; legal matters; data protection, she is the University’s Data Protection Officer; and Freedom of Information. She is the University’s Risk Manager and manages the internal audit service.
