  • Clearing visit days are on 18th and 19th August. These will be in-person events, with attendees able to tour the campus and chat to staff in their course area as well as Finance, Admissions and Accommodation teams.

Ten facts about the University of Worcester

  1. The University has been ranked in the top 5 in the UK for Quality Education in all years of the Times Higher Education’s University Impact Rankings, which assess how universities globally are meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The University has also been ranked in the top 5 in the UK for Gender Equality in all years of the rankings and currently holds the number one spot.

  2. The University’s primary and secondary teacher training programmes were rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in a report published in May 2023, which described the provision as ‘exceptional’.

  3. Worcester is the number one English higher education institute (excluding specialist institutions) for sustained employment, further study, or both, three and five years after graduation (LEO 2022). Throughout the 21st Century, a minimum of 97% of the University’s students have been state educated. Meanwhile, 96% of Worcester graduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduating (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2022).

  4. In the Complete University Guide 2024, a number of Worcester’s courses were given Top 10 rankings for Student Satisfaction, including Sports, Occupational Therapy, Forensic Science, Law, Social Work and Sociology. Other courses were ranked in the Top 10 for Graduate Prospects, including Early Childhood, English, and Health and Social Care.

  5. Worcester has been shortlisted three times as the Times Higher Education’s University of the Year – in 2016, 2019 and 2020 - and twice for University of the Year in the UK Social Mobility Awards – in 2019 and 2020.

  6. Worcester has received First Class Honours in the annual People and Planet University Sustainability League for more than a decade now, ranking 14th in 2022. The University was named Sustainability Institution of the Year in the Green Gown Awards 2019.

  7. The University was shortlisted for Best Student Experience in the annual Student Nursing Times Awards 2022, while several students were shortlisted across a number of categories in the Awards.

  8. In the 2022 National Student Survey (NSS), seven courses, including Biology, History and Physical Education, received 100% overall satisfaction. The University of Worcester scored highly in Learning Opportunities, Learning Resources and Student Voice overall.

  9. A report from the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) in early 2018 placed the University of Worcester in the top 10 of universities which best reflect society.

  10. Worcester is ranked among the very best in the UK in two national independent surveys exploring postgraduate teaching and research. In the AdvanceHE Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2022, Worcester is ranked 7th amongst 90 UK universities for overall satisfaction, while Worcester is also ranked 7th out of 94 in the AdvanceHE Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2021.
