A Welcome from the Vice Chancellor

Welcome to the University of Worcester

Thank you for your interest in the University of Worcester.

In the last few years, the number of people applying to study here at Worcester has soared. We’re now one of the fastest growing universities in Britain. So what’s our secret?

The main reason is our combination of high quality teaching and a friendly, inclusive approach. At Worcester you really count as a person and are an important part of our community. Our motto is ‘We aspire to inspire’ and that informs everything we do.

As a university, we concentrate on giving our students the very best opportunities in life. Our courses are up to date and highly flexible, so you can design your studies around your own interests. We also listen carefully to what our students tell us about their experiences here, making improvements that take advantage of the latest technology and research.

Our parkland campus is a fantastic environment for developing your potential, just a mile from the heart of our beautiful cathedral city. Plus, thanks to our successes and careful financial management, we’re able to keep on investing in new facilities for the future.

New accommodation, teaching, sports, library and IT facilities started opening on campus in September 2008 and there’s much more to come. It’s all designed to give you excellent opportunities and make us an environmentally sustainable university.

I’m hugely proud of the community spirit we’ve got here at Worcester, as are our staff and students. Join us and you’ll have every encouragement to be part of a thriving social, cultural and sporting scene. At the same time, you’ll gain the intellectual and practical skills you’ll need to succeed in today’s working world.

As the only university in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, we enjoy excellent links with businesses and organisations throughout the region. For you, that means outstanding work-placement and volunteering opportunities.

Your choice of university is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make, so whatever you’d like to know about the University, please feel free to explore. Request a prospectus, arrange a campus visit, chat to our friendly staff and find out whether you can see yourself at Worcester. We hope you’ll agree, this really is a very special place to study.
