This module is part of the Worcester Business School MSc courses. You will study alongside other Business School masters students. The module is also part of the Professional Development MA/MSc course - a flexible course that you help design to take your career to the next level.
Overview
The module offers a critical analysis of the emerging field of sustainable management by examining the conceptual underpinnings of sustainability. It aims to address the increasingly important sustainability agenda by exploring different organizational responses to (un)sustainable and (ir)responsible business practices.
The module also takes into account the growing stakeholder expectations of economic, environmental, and social sustainable business futures.
In addition, students will apply the knowledge and skills developed throughout in-class lecture and seminar activities to critically evaluate the performance of organizations. They will also critically analyse potential responses that can promote sustainable futures.

It is expected that all advertised modules will run, but there may be situations where there are insufficient students to make a particular module viable.

Module delivery
The module utilizes an enquiry-based approach to learning, in which students investigate and evaluate sustainable management practices within an organization. The problem-oriented class exercises provide a practical, interactive module environment that encourages peer-to-peer as well as tutor-to-student learning.
Assessment methods
This module is assessed by:
- 20-minutes group presentation
- 2,500-word consultancy report
Entry Requirements
Admission to this modules typically requires:
- A second class honours degree in any subject (or International students holding a qualification recognised as equivalent by the University).
Students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency to a minimum level of 6.5 IELTS (and minimum of 5.5 in each element) or equivalent
