Overview

Marketing plays a central role in creating, communicating, capturing and sustaining value for organisations, customers and society.

The role of marketing management involves the identification and consistent delivery of customer perceived value offerings to targeted customers in a dynamic marketplace.

In this module you will gain a comprehensive understanding and critical evaluation of marketing management practices, underpinned by relevant theories and conceptual frameworks. These frameworks are applied to contemporary issues and marketing strategies.

The module is taught via weekly, 2-hour sessions. Please contact wbs@worc.ac.uk to confirm times and dates for the next delivery of this module.

It is expected that all advertised modules will run, but there may be situations where there are insufficient students to make a particular module viable.

This module will enable students to optimise product/service uptake by being able to effectively build appeal and value in an organisation’s offering to its customers/users.

This module will enable students to develop and enhance vital skills which are highly sought after such as: research skills, problem solving and critical thinking and analytical skills


Module delivery

Learning in traditional and block teaching modes will use a combination of lectures, practical activities, reviews of current literature and individual sessions to help in developing a research proposal.

Students will use the university VLE for access to materials and will engage extensively with online contemporary texts and articles.

Assessment methods

This module is assessed by:

  • Produce a 2,500 word marketing management report


Entry Requirements

Admission to this modules typically requires:

  • A second class honours degree in any subject (or International students holding a qualification recognised as equivalent by the University).

Students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency to a minimum level of 6.5 IELTS (and minimum of 5.5 in each element) or equivalent
