Students’ shall devise measures of performance and generate and analyse quantitative data for appropriate dissemination to both coaches and athletes utilising a range of pertinent software. Two intensive days, online discussion and directed study tasks will be used to allow students to analyse sports performance and develop an appropriate strategy for performance development.
This module is part of the University’s Applied Sports Performance Analysis MSc . You will study alongside other students on this course. The module is also part of the Professional Development MA/MSc course - a flexible course that you help design to take your career to the next level.

On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Module delivery
This module is delivered in taught face to face sessions in a block of learning activities that take place in September. Followed by weekly online sessions.
Assessment
Assessment of this module includes the development of a critical review that critically evaluates the methodological processes undertaken to devise a valid and reliable performance analysis system to measure aspects of performance. It also includes a presentation that critically reviews a series of performances for an individual or team. Select appropriate measures of performance (research informed) and utilise suitable software for the collection of, analysis of and presentation of this data. Create an action plan outlining how performance analysis can be used to assist coaches, support staff and players to address identified areas of development.
Entry Requirements
Entry to this module requires registration to a postgraduate award in Professional Development. The module is also available as a stand alone module, anyone wishing to take this module as a stand alone module should contact the admissions team.
No prior study is required for this module, but it is advisable to contact the module leader prior to selection of this module.
