Kathy Clarke is interested and passionate about undergraduate nursing, teaching and learning with the application of theory to clinical practice. She is student focused, interested in widening participation and is committed to supporting students and apprentices reach their full potential. Within the recruitment and selection nursing team Kathy leads on the recognition of prior learning.
She has worked as a registered nurse in a wide range of clinical settings, predominately within an acute care setting including medical, surgical and critical care settings. Kathy has been instrumental supporting the development of new services provisions including Critical Care Outreach and Out of Hours Hospital Nurse Practitioner. In addition, Kathy has worked as a Practice Development Nurse in different Trusts supporting and facilitating the development of clinical programmes and of health care practitioners.
She has been in Higher Education for the last 10 years, supporting programmes and leading modules across a range of undergraduate programmes. Since 2011 Kathy has taken on the course lead role for programmes including Critical Care; Foundation Degree Health and Social Care and more recently Foundation Degree Nursing Associate Apprentice programme working in partnership with healthcare employers from across the region.
