Many of our courses feature a significant amount of work-based learning. This is particularly so for the courses leading to professional registration.

Nursing and Midwifery

Nursing and Midwifery students are placed in health care settings for about half of the course. Placement settings include hospitals, nursing and care homes, health centres and day centres, and district nursing/midwifery teams.

Placement support

Our Work Based Learning Support Office organises placements for pre-registration Nursing, Midwifery and FdSc Pre-Hospital, Unscheduled and Emergency Care students. Students are supported in practice by mentors, NHS practice facilitators, and by the University’s Practice Development Team. Current students can contact the Work Based Learning Support Office at plast@worc.ac.uk
