Legal Advice & Support across the University

We provide, with support from external legal advisers, pragmatic legal advice and support across the University.

We provide advice on:

• contracts and other legal agreements;
• partnerships;
• education specific matters;
• Intellectual property;
• Trademarking

We aim to promote an awareness of the legal implications of activities and decisions, ensuring any risks are identified promptly and mitigated effectively.

We can provide training, through our external legal advisers, on legal or regulatory issues.

Please note that HR legal matters are dealt with by the HR Department.

Corporate Governance

The University Secretary is the Clerk to the Board of Governors and is supported by the Assistant Clerk to the Board. We ensure that the Board and its Committees are fully supported and the University maintains its reputation for good governance and management. Data Protection and Information Governance Team

We are a small team providing advice and support across the University on all matters relating to data protection and information compliance. We are responsible for the administration of information requests (FOI and Data Protection) and support the university in meeting its statutory obligations under information legislation.
