Congratulations on being invited to an interview!
We are very excited that you have considered our University for your studies and we wish you every success with your application. This web page has been designed to provide you all the information you need to prepare yourself for the interview.
Below you will find information on:
The University of Worcester has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality innovative and contemporary physiotherapy education. This course is validated by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Successful completion of the course will give you eligibility to apply for registration with the HCPC and full professional membership of the CSP.
Preparing for your interview
To help you prepare for your interview, you should reflect on why you want to be a physiotherapist and any experience and skills/traits you have that may be relevant, as the interview will focus on these.
There are some relevant online resources that we’d also recommend taking a look at ahead of your interview, which we’ve listed below:
Tasks to do ahead of your interview
Task 1
We would like you to select a photograph or an object which you can use to help tell us a bit about yourself and qualities you will bring to the course and the profession. You will need to have this with you during the interview.
Task 2
Before the interview, please watch the following 3 short videos where you will hear about different people’s lives. These are all examples of the types of people physiotherapists might work with in clinical practice.
Video 1: Audrey and Alan’s Story
Video 2: James' Story
Video 3: Craig’s Story
We would like you to choose one of the videos to discuss at the interview. We will ask you some questions about how you feel a physiotherapist might be involved with this person and their wider health care team.
The online interview process
Accessing the interview
You will receive a virtual invite to Microsoft Teams, with a log-in link for the online interview. The interview will take approximately 15 minutes.
Getting ready for the interview
In advance of the interview, please make sure that Microsoft Teams, your camera and microphone are all working on your computer/device. We recommend downloading the Microsoft Teams App if possible, rather than using the web version. Give yourself plenty of time before the interview to check that everything is working ok.
Please ensure you join the online interview 5 minutes before your allocated start time and don’t forget to turn your camera and microphone on!
What to bring
You’ll need to show photographic ID during your online interview, such as a driving licence or passport, so make sure you have this to hand. It’s also a good idea to have a pen and paper with you, in case you want to make any notes or jot down any questions. Don’t forget to bring along your object or photo to talk about too!
We don’t require formal clothes for the selection event, so please just wear what you’re comfortable in as you would wear day-to-day.
