Abigail Richardson
Abigail Richardson achieved a First Class Honours in Primary and Outdoor Education BA (Hons).
“I never thought I would be able to achieve a First and I am not sure it has fully sunk in,” said the 21-year-old, of Boars Hill. “It is definitely my biggest achievement and one that I am so proud of.”
Abigail is now studying for a PGCE qualification to allow her to go into teaching. She said she hopes to become a primary school teacher and have her own class next year.
Abigail said she chose to study at Worcester due partly to its proximity to home and the beauty of the City, but also the nature of the course on offer. “The course was really suited to my learning style and everyone at the University is so friendly and helpful. I absolutely loved the variety of activities that my course offered, from lectures in and outside, gorge walking, PGL trips away, canoeing and forest school, as well as placements.”
Abigail brought her horse, Dede, with her to university and the animal stayed at a local livery yard near Tenbury Wells. “It was so lovely to be able to keep riding her and also kept me super busy,” said Abigail. “I found having lots of different activities helped keep me busy, organised and manage my time effectively so that I could still achieve my First.”
