At the University of Worcester Sport and Exercise Therapy Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic, we offer a wide range of treatments tailored to your individual needs. The services we deliver offer full use of our facilities with specialist equipment for treatments as well as rehabilitation.
Our clinic focuses on the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of our clients back to optimum levels of functional, occupational, and sports-specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. We work with the public all the way to high level athletes.
Our personalised rehabilitation plans and follow-up sessions with our student sport therapists provide the continuity our clients need to progress week on week. Our team is made up of sports therapists who are currently studying BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree programme. Students work under supervision by staff holding professional membership, insurance, and a license to practice in the UK.

Sports Massage clinic
Sports massage can provide several benefits to athletes and active individuals, including enhanced performance, improved flexibility, range of motion, and muscle function, which can contribute to better athletic performance.
- Injury Prevention: Regular sports massages can help identify and address potential issues before they become major injuries
- Faster Recovery: Sports massage can aid in the recovery process by reducing muscle soreness and promoting healing
- Relaxation and Stress Relief: While sports massage is often associated with intense techniques, it can also promote relaxation and reduce stress
What to bring?
Loose comfortable clothing that is easy to be removed if needed to be such as vests, preferably not sports bras for women and a pair of shorts for any lower limb treatment.
What to expect?
- 40 minutes appointment including 10-15 for subjective assessment and discussion
- Sports massage with and experienced team member and students
- After care advice and referral if appropriate

Professional injury clinic
Over 20 million people in the UK, almost one third of the population, have a musculoskeletal (MSK) condition such as arthritis or back pain. Symptoms can include pain, stiffness, limited movement, and disability which affect quality of life and independence (NHS England). MSK injury consult focuses on screening for these conditions, allowing us to give an clinical impression and tailored treatment to help aid recovery and better health.
What to expect?
This session will cover a full 55-minute consultation with one of our third-year students, within this time the student will focus on the main complaint of pain and how it may have occurred. During this a full subjective and objective assessment will be completed looking at the injured site itself and the possible surrounding factors that could be involved. From this, the student will tailor their treatment to your specific needs to create a rehabilitation plan aided to the clients’ goals and fitting to their daily lifestyle.
