The independent Whatuni Student Choice Awards are based reviews submitted by students and published on Whatuni.com. Over the last six months, more than 41,000 student reviews were submitted from 150 institutions, in which students said how they had found their studying experience.

Following this, Worcester has now been shortlisted in the International and Postgraduate student experience categories of the Awards, for the second year running. Winners will be announced digitally towards the end of April.

University of Worcester Pro Vice Chancellor, Ross Renton, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted once again in these prestigious awards, which are based on student reviews. We strive to ensure we provide the best possible experience for our students, whether that is through our drive towards academic excellence, accessible facilities, greater provision to address mental health and wellbeing, or creating a community of tolerance and inclusion for all.”

The University of Worcester is currently the number one UK university for both Quality Education and Gender Equality, according to the latest Times Higher University Impact Rankings. Worcester was also named the Country’s most sustainable in the Green Gown Award 2019.

In the 2019 National Student Survey, 88.2% of Worcester final year students said they were satisfied overall, placing the University at 16th out of 152 institutions and 8th out of all English non-specialist universities. Nine courses at Worcester received 100% satisfaction. In the most recent Times Good University Guide 2020, the University of Worcester is ranked 6th for teaching quality and 8th for student experience. The Longitudinal Education Outcomes analysis published, for the second time in January 2020, again placed Worcester in the top 10 of all English higher education institutions for sustained employment after one, three and five years.

Harry Lonsdale, President of Worcester Students’ Union, said: We are really pleased to see that students are having such a good experience at Worcester. As a Student Union, we work closely with the University to ensure that students, from all walks of life and from all over the world, feel welcome and supported, whatever they are studying. It is great to see the University being rewarded by students again this year.’
