Journalism Students in Parliament on Reshuffle Day

University of Worcester Journalism students couldn’t have chosen a more politically exciting day to visit Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston at Westminster.
With former Prime Minister David Cameron’s surprise return to Government and a Cabinet re-shuffle in full swing, the second-year students enjoyed a Q and A and watched a King’s speech chamber debate.
Journalism Course Leader Rachel Ammonds said the visit had given students a real insight into a fast-moving political news story.
“We were watching the reshuffle unfold on social media while we were en route to Westminster so it was extraordinary to walk into the central lobby and meet Nigel on such an exciting day,” she said.
Mr Huddleston, who is Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade, told the students that MPs had suspected a reshuffle, but Cameron’s comeback was a surprise.
