More than 200 students from across the Black Country attended a special event to find out about continuing their studies in the region.
Students from Dudley, Halesowen and Walsall colleges travelled to the Black Country and Marches Institute of Technology (IoT) on Zoological Drive in Dudley to learn about new higher education courses on offer.
The University of Worcester has launched a series of degree-level courses delivered in Dudley in partnership with Dudley College and the IoT.
The first cohort of Dudley-based BSc Nursing students began their studies in September, undertaking classes at the IoT alongside placements in local health settings.
From September 2025, local people will also be able to study for a degree in Sports Therapy, Criminology or Assistant Practitioner, based in Dudley and delivered by academics from the University of Worcester.
Worcester is a leading educator of healthcare professionals and was chosen as the higher education partner for a new health innovation centre being created in Dudley on Castle Hill. Once opened, the Centre will offer a range of health-related courses, including full and part-time undergraduate degrees and apprenticeships.
Ranked as the number one UK university (excluding specialist institutions) for sustained employment, further study, or both, five years after graduation (LEO 2024), Worcester graduates go on to make a real difference in the world.
The University was described in its most recent report following the national Teaching Excellence Framework as “an engine of opportunity – supporting its students to benefit from an educational experience that is personally transformative and allows them to succeed in their chosen career.”
Courses are taught in Dudley by Worcester academics, with access to the University’s full range of expertise and opportunities for work placements in the Dudley region.
