BBC National Orchestra of Wales to perform at the University of Worcester Arena

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales will return to Worcester next month, for its second performance at the University of Worcester Arena.
Presented by the University, in association with the Autumn in Malvern Festival, this rare opportunity to see and hear one of the UK's leading orchestras takes place on Sunday, October 1 at 3pm.
Anne Hannaford, Director of Arts and Culture at the University, said: "We hope that the timing of the concert, in the afternoon, makes it easier for families and people who are less able to get out in the evenings to come and enjoy an afternoon of very fine music, while regular concert-goers will be delighted to see well loved pieces on the programme. "
Conducted by Kazuki Yamada, the Orchestra will be playing Benjamin Britten's The Young Person'sGuide to the Orchestra, along with Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor Op.26, and Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No 9 in E minor Op.95 (From the New World).
Yamada is Artistic Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo, and has recently toured Japan with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, to great acclaim.
The exciting young musician Hyeyoon Park will lead on violin. 
Her exceptional talent has been recognised by the numerous national and international prizes she has been awarded. Among them, the prestigious London Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award in 2011and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2009. Hyeyoon appears regularly as a recitalist with the pianist Benjamin Grosvenor and as a chamber musician at international festivals in Europe and America.
BBC National Orchestra of Wales occupies a special role as both a broadcast orchestra and the national symphony orchestra of Wales. The Orchestra can also be heard on a number of BBC programmes including the BBC Natural History Unit's, Hidden Kingdoms, BBC Cymru Wales's, Atlantis and of course as the Doctor Who orchestra.
The concert will be recorded for future transmission on BBC Radio 3.
