Wednesday, 10 February 2016
A group of Business students, calling themselves the Super Six, have won £750 following a successful pitch to local business leaders.
As part of the Operations, Project and Risk Management module, on the University's Business Management degree, students competed in teams to present a project plan in front of representatives from Qinetiq and the Association for Project Management (APM).
The winning group, Super Six, was made up of students Adam Garf, Avril Bartholomew, Elisa Rainford, Gina Fernandez Salmon, Ruby Young and Sophie Moreton, who produced a plan to make a video to help prospective business students to get an idea about the academic members of staff who would teach them at the University.
Martin Chick, Head of Programmes at Malvern-based Qinetiq, presented the awards, sponsored by the APM, which consisted of a £100 Amazon voucher for each member of the winning team, plus membership of APM.
Mr Chick said: "The Super Six delivered on all the key aspects of any project plan and were professional and organised. All of the students did a fantastic job though and should be very proud."
Dr Abdulmaten Taroun, who led the module with Dr Vessela Warren, said: "We were very pleased with the project plans produced by the students and it was very rewarding to see them able to present their excellent work in front of our guest judge, so professionally."
