The Leader of Wychavon District Council has praised the University of Worcester's facilities and its efforts to engage with the community during a visit.
Cllr Linda Robinson said she had a positive impression of the University on a tour which included the St John's Campus, City Campus and facilities like the Hive.
She said: "The visit was absolutely fascinating. It's opened my eyes to the potential that the University has and the space and quality of facilities for the students and for the public."
Although Cllr Robinson had seen the exterior of The Hive, this was her first time inside the University and Worcestershire County Council's joint library, which she described as a "lovely space".
She said: "I thought it was wonderful, that it can be shared, because so often university campuses can be slightly closed to the public.
"The situation in Worcester city means people are around you. If they can share the space and facilities, that's brilliant for them and for our residents in Wychavon."
She said she was also impressed by the diversity of the training and work placements available on some courses and surprised at some of the courses that the university had to offer.
As a farmer herself, she said she had found the University's studies on pollen and pollution particularly interesting.
She said: "I was impressed with the range of opportunities the University offers and certainly recommend people in Wychavon to have a good look at what the University on our doorstep offers.
"Certainly as Leader I'd like to see us continue the relationship and build on it for the benefit of young people."
