A senior lecturer at the University of Worcester has been shortlisted for a prestigious prize at the British Journal of Nursing Awards.
Dr Paul-John Alegado is in the running for the Educator Nurse of the Year award, which celebrates nurses who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring and advancing nursing education.
A nomination for the award acknowledges innovative approaches to nursing education, and dedication to fostering the next generation of nurses.
Paul-John said: “I was so surprised to learn I’d been nominated! I don’t do what I do with the expectation of any recognition like this, so when I received the news, it was a great feeling.”
Robert Dudley, Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Worcester, said: “Paul-John is an outstanding registered nurse, academic and scholar. Being nominated for this prestigious award is testament to his dedication in promoting international nursing students’ sense of inclusivity and belonging.”
He continued: “Paul-John has organised career development conferences and delivered public lectures for international nurses, helping them progress in their careers.”
Paul-John will find out if he has won the award at a ceremony in London on March 21st
