Aspiring teachers are invited to an event in Worcester where they can find out more about routes into the profession, and opportunities for study where they live.
The event, between 2:30-6pm at The Hive on Wednesday 26th February, aims to help people learn about the University of Worcester’s options for study through its extensive network of Regional Training Hubs.
The Hubs are networks of schools working together to train teachers, and the University has hubs all over the region, in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Birmingham and the Black Country.
Andy Taylor, Senior Lecturer and Primary Regional Training Hub Co-Ordinator at the University, said: “This is a chance to explore options and find out more about a career in teaching. The Regional Hub option is for anyone who has a degree or is due to graduate this year and is considering a career in teaching.”
He continued: “You’ll be able to speak to experienced staff from schools and the University about the opportunities that are open to you.”
He added: “We want to ensure everyone who wants to train to be a teacher has the opportunity to do so through our outstanding programme, which is accessible locally where people live.”
Trainees who go through the Regional Training Hub route into teaching will do a mix of training at their Hub sites and at the University of Worcester.
The Hub will organise placements within their network of schools, so trainees get support from experienced teachers and University tutors.
