UW PROF SANDRA NICHOLSON MEDAL

Professor Sandra Nicholson, from the University of Worcester’s Three Counties Medical School, was awarded the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) President’s Medal as her second and final term as Chair ended.

The Association is an organisation dedicated to promoting healthcare scholarship and improving medical education and professional development for educators and students.

The President’s Medal was established as an award to recognise an outstanding contribution by a person to ASME over many years. Professor Nicholson served as the organisations Chair between the years of 2018 and 2024.

Professor Nicholson said: “It makes me proud to receive this award. I’ve worked hard for ASME for the last seven years, but at the same time, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.”

The award comes with lifetime membership of ASME, and Professor Nicholson said: “I’m just going to really enjoy taking part in their activities as a member! I’ve been encouraging the members for years to join in with all the activities and conversations we arrange, so that’ll be me from now on.”
