A Journalism graduate at the University of Worcester has won a top award.
Kathryn Emerson, who graduated yesterday, scooped Magazine of the Year at the Midlands Media Awards.
She was presented with her award by veteran ITV Central presenter Bob Warman at a glittering event at Canalside, Birmingham.
She said: "This is amazing. I am really honoured." She had single-handedly produced a travel magazine, Venture, which was highly praised by judges.
Claire Wolfe, Principal Lecturer in Journalism at the University of Worcester, said: " Students on the BA (Hons) Journalism course have been consistently achieving success and winning awards that help them to gain work in a multi-platform environment."
Kathryn,22, is already working as a freelance at BBC Shropshire.
She beat nominations in the magazine/supplement category from established publications like Birmingham Living, ArtsBeat and Midlands Business Insider.
