Worcester Wolf Re-Signs to the Pack After Impressive Debut Season
Friday, 15 September 2017
Worcester Wolves Basketball Club is delighted to confirm that Jermel Kennedy, who impressed in his debut season with the team, will be returning for a second season.
The 6ft 7in forward featured in 41 games for the Worcester Wolves last season from Spanish team CB Clavijo Logrono, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game and 12.7 points per game. With some tough competition from his own teammates, when the Wolves went on a 16-game winning streak, the 27-year-old also won the BBL player of the month for March.
Paul James, Wolves Head Coach, said "I'm delighted that we have been able to secure Jermel for another season. He was a player that last season I thought had the qualities to have an impact in the league and help us be a very good team on his way to averaging 12 points and 7 rebounds a game. These are numbers that I fully expect him to improve upon this time around.
"Jermel contributes in many different ways, giving us some great options with his all round game, which I believe is perfect for the BBL. He had an outstanding March, which lead to him being awarded Player of the Month, so more of the same would be great. I'm expecting him to have a dominant season having had the experience of the last campaign."
Worcester Wolves, owned by the University of Worcester, play their first friendly game together as a team away at Bristol Flyers this Saturday 16th September before returning home to the University of Worcester Arena play them on Monday 18th September.
They then play their final friendly against Sheffield Sharks on Friday 22nd September ahead of their first league game against London Lions on Friday 29th September also at the University of Worcester Arena. Season ticket holders have free entry for the friendly games whilst non-season ticket holders can purchase theirs at www.worcesterwolves.org.
