Chris joined the University in 2012 as a support member of staff working as an exercise physiologist in partnership with Hereford & Worcester Fire Service and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. Off the back of being a practicing Sports therapist, personal trainer and associate lecturer, Chris developed a further passion for occupational health and fitness which led him to complete his master’s degree in Nutritional Therapy. From 2018 Chris joined the Sports therapy academic team as a full-time lecturer teaching broadly across the course and become the contract clinical lead for the Fire service contracts.
Chris’s particular interests lie within functional anatomy, exercise science prescription and testing and how this is related to special populations and occupations.

- Reps Level 4 BACPR Cardiac Rehab Specialist
- Reps Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral

Teaching Interests:
Chris is interested in all aspects of Sport Therapy and is currently teaching on:
- Exercising human for Sports Therapy
- Functional Anatomy
- Sports Rehabilitation
- Manual Therapy
- Advanced Sports Therapy
Research Interests:
Chris completed his MSc thesis looking into the cardiovascular risk status within the Fire Service. This study is providing the foundation for further investigation and research ultimately to inform and provide guidance for health, fitness and wellbeing promotion.
