Colin co-leads the Postgraduate Awards in Professional Development and is involved in teaching and research about professional development and online learning. He also leads the MA in Outdoor Education, which supports outdoor professionals wishing to study in their workplace. Previously, Colin had a long career in Outdoor Education working in senior posts around the world. Colin's work spanned corporate development, outdoor recreation, sail training and expeditionary learning including leading numerous jungle expeditions.

In addition, he supervises postgraduate research, mostly work-based research.

Colin's teaching and supervision is strongly influenced by his experience of management in the outdoor recreation industry. His teaching is informed by a passion for helping professionals to explore their own practice and learning through the lens of theory.
