Dave came to the University of Worcester in 2018, having worked as a Physical Education teacher in Secondary education for over ten years. During his time at school, he held numerous roles, including Director of Sport Specialism, one-to-one tuition coordinator, and subject and professional mentor and gained his NPQML qualification.

Dave is the PGCE secondary subject lead for Physical Education. He also teaches on the undergraduate programme with the School of Sport for the PE and Sports Coaching Modules and the primary PE programme in the Institute of Education. He teaches across pedagogy-based modules, which allows him to use his prior experience to enhance the module content and student learning. He completed his Masters in Education, in which he investigated teachers' experiences of teaching Fundamental Movement Skills in Secondary schools.

Dave is an experienced examiner and moderator for the Edexcel/Pearson GCSE PE course. He is an external examiner at Liverpool Hope University and a fellow of the HEA, hoping to complete his senior fellowship shortly. Dave has extensive coaching experience and qualifications and is committed to continuing his professional development in these areas. Unsurprisingly, Dave enjoys participating in a range of sports in his spare time, particularly running over the Malvern Hills! Teaching was an early passion for Dave, and he now hopes to instil this enthusiasm in students who are about to embark on this profession.

Dave is a published writer who regularly presents his work at internal and external conferences. He loves teaching and learning and seeks opportunities to share and collaborate in his teaching, writing and research. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and spending time with his family.

Dave is the CPD lead for the Department for Secondary and FES; He is also the school lead for PAT within the Institute of Education.
