Laila is a Senior Lecturer in Strategic Marketing at Worcester Business School with expertise in the areas of strategy, international business, marketing and entrepreneurship. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with over 10-years teaching and research experience at different UK universities. She has a working experience in diverse cultures and sectors including Higher Education, Social Enterprise, and Commercial Sectors.
Laila is interested in research that advances the theory as well as the practice of various organisations. Her research expertise lies in the internationalisation of firms and subsequent capability development. She is also interested in migrant entrepreneurship, particularly refugee entrepreneurship. Laila leads the Entrepreneurship Research Cluster at Worcester Business School and is a member of the Future Proofing Organisations Research Group.
Laila teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students on a variety of subjects that relate to her research including global strategy, international business and strategic marketing.

- Critical analysis of the reality of Entrepreneurship Education in Omani HEIs.
- Examining the experiences of Chinese Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Germany.
