Gizem is a full-time Ph.D. student in the School of Science and Environment at the University of Worcester.
Gizem’s main research interest is the identification of gene targets that are involved in pathogenicity to control plant diseases by using the sRNA approach. Her Ph.D. research aims to increase understanding of plant-microbe interactions, develop a novel sRNA-based genetic screening method to identify target genes, and control downy mildew plant disease on Peronospora vicia f.sp. pisi (PVP)- Pea (Pisum sativum) pathosystem.
