Isabel has been teaching in Higher Education for almost 10 years starting her academic career at Oxford Brookes University and the University of Birmingham before moving on to Staffordshire University where she became a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Events Management.
Prior to moving into higher education, Isabel had a successful career as a communications practitioner working within a range of high-profile organisations including Silverstone Circuit and the McLaren Formula One team. Her most recent Executive post was as Head of Regional Affairs for ITV in the Central Region where she managed all communications including public relations, community liaison, political lobbying and corporate events. She was Chair of the Royal Television Society Midlands Centre from 2008 until 2018.
Qualifications
Isabel holds both a BA (Hons) and Master’s in Social Anthropology from Cambridge University alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher and Professional Education. She also has professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Teaching and Research
Teaching Interests
Isabel teaches primarily on Public Relations and Communications modules as well as working with Masters and MBA students teaching Research Methods and supervising Dissertations. She is an Admissions Tutor for Postgraduate students to the Business School.
