Lauren is a Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist supporting clients, families and carers in rehabilitation from neurological injury. When she is not lecturing, she also works within the rehabilitation technology sector as she believes the future of healthcare is not only in adopting technology but in empowering people by giving them the tools they need for rehabilitation.
Her educational background includes a PGDip in Occupational Therapy and a MSc in Health through Occupation. She has additional post graduate training in rehabilitation of the upper limb, motivational interviewing, sensory strategies, and postural care.
In her professional capacity Lauren has worked across acute and community services in orthopaedic, medical and surgical settings. She is now specialising in the neurological rehabilitation, employing a functional task-oriented approach to facilitate her clients to achieve their potential to acquire, maintain or regain skills required to participate in their daily lives and beyond. She is dedicated to supporting people to take control of their lives regardless of their disability and is experienced in the use of technology to facilitate independence and social participation.
