Matt Harris qualified as a pharmacist in 2009 and began his career working within the community sector of pharmacy before making the switch to secondary care in 2011. During his time working within the hospital sector, he experienced working in a wide range of medical specialities before taking up a role working as a pharmacist within an Emergency Department focused on admission avoidance and prevention. This role subsequently expanded following the completion of training to become an Independent Prescriber in 2015. Matt went on to develop as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, working within an Ambulatory Emergency Care Clinic within Acute Medicine whilst maintaining his role within the Emergency Department.
Matt moved into academia and joined the University of Worcester at the beginning of 2020. In his current role as Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and Medicines Management, he works with the Continual Professional Development Team focussing on the development of the future Advanced Clinical Practitioner workforce.
