Oona has recently joined the University and this is her first teaching post as a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy.

Oona has 5 years’ experience of working in the NHS on acute mental health wards and within community secondary care mental health teams.

Prior to qualifying as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Worcester in 2019, Oona worked within education for 10 years, supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

Oona has a longstanding interest in education and she has loved supporting Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy students during her time in practice and this has driven her decision to pursue a career in higher education.

Oona loves being active and pursue water-based activities and walking in woodlands as much as possible with her family and her dog, Yoko!

First Class BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy 

Teaching Interests

Oona has recently transitioned from a clinical setting to Higher Education and continues to have an interest in the importance of teamworking and leadership skills within multidisciplinary teams.

Oona is looking forward to teaching all aspects of Occupational Therapy and supporting students in developing skills for their future roles as Occupational Therapists in clinical settings. 

Research Interests

Oona continues to have an interest in mental health and in particular how mental health services can support neurodiverse individuals.
