Sandie qualified as a Midwife at the University of Worcester in 2018. She started her midwifery career at Gloucester Royal Hospital as a rotation midwife, working across all departments such as Delivery Suite, Triage, Birth Unit and Antenatal/Postnatal Ward. Her most recent role was as the Maternity Triage and Ambulance Hub Lead Midwife where she was responsible for the effective management of Maternity Triage and the Ambulance Hub over the 24-hour period, supporting unscheduled care within Gloucestershire Maternity services. She also contributed within the 24-hour Flow and Quality team, working alongside medical and midwifery teams to ensure optimal patient care and management across the division.
As a specialist senior Midwife, she demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership to the midwifery and medical team and supervised the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using BSOTS (Birmingham Symptom Specific Obstetric Triage System) ensuring that midwifery and corporate standards are maintained and measured.
