James serves as the School of Sport and Exercise Science's (SSES) Strength and Conditioning Technical Demonstrator. He initially joined the University as a student in 2011, from 2012 has been a member of the SSES team, fulfilling various roles.
An accredited strength and conditioning coach (UKSCA), James has provided strength and conditioning support to a diverse range of teams within the university's performance sport program, as well as working with a number of university scholarship athletes who compete on the national and international stage.
In addition to his university responsibilities, James actively contributes to the strength and conditioning support for the Worcester Wolves and Severn Stars franchises. Extending his expertise to athletes at both local and national levels, spanning from elite to amateur categories.
Since 2013 he has been the Head of Strength and Conditioning for Worcester City Women's Football Club.

Scope of Role at the University
James's role at the University involves providing strength and conditioning support to a number of University of Worcester teams, scholarship athletes and local Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) athletes, alongside assisting with the strength and conditioning programmes for the Worcester Wolves and Severn Stars. He also provides support to several external high performing athletes.
James also teaches strength and conditioning on related modules on the Sport and Exercise Science degree.
Internal Responsibilities:
In addition to the above, James assists in the mentorship of work placement students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, delivers CPD to student S&C coaches and provides research support to staff and dissertation students.

Industry Background
James has worked in strength and conditioning for a number of years. Local teams he has worked with through the university include Worcester Swimming Club and Worcester Reds Netball Club.
Externally James has previous experience with Worcester Warriors Rugby, GB Wheelchair Basketball, Worcester Rowing Club, and England Lacrosse U19s Women’s team winning the 2018 u20s European Championships.
