Social Justice Research Interest Group

Aims and interests

This is a group for members of staff who are interested in learning about, developing or undertaking research around education and social justice, including issues relating to diversity, equality and inclusion.

Meetings usually involve a short presentation from a colleague, time for discussion and questions, and opportunities for networking and sharing ideas. The group generally meets bi-monthly.

Welcome

All members of staff are welcome to attend. The group shares a diverse range of interests, unified by a commitment to exploring issues of social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion in education. For information about forthcoming meetings, including venues, please contact the group facilitator (details below).

What do we do?

Meetings usually run from 12.30 pm – 1.45 pm. Members are free to bring their lunch or a drink, and attend for as much of the time as other commitments allow.

Who are we?

Membership is fluid, and all members of staff interested in issues relating to social justice in educational contexts (understood in a broad sense) are welcome.

Names of regular participants in the group are detailed below. If you would like your name to be added please contact Richard Woolley. Specific staff interests can be identified on their individual web pages. An asterisk (*) indicates those who would welcome enquiries from those interested in undertaking doctoral study:
